Six Capital Vessels Enroll in the USCG QualShip 21 Program.

Athens, Greece, August 5, 2022. Six tanker vessels managed by Capital Ship Management Corp., were enrolled in the QualShip 21 program by the U.S. Coast Guard.

Less than 20% of all foreign-flagged vessels that operate in the United States meet the strict eligibility requirements of this program by consistently maintaining an exceptional commitment to quality.

Biofuel trials onboard Capital Ship Management Corp. (“Capital”) tanker to advance research for alternative fuels. 

Athens, Greece, June 8, 2022.  Capital and Lloyd’s Register (LR) will trial the use of biofuels in a new pilot project to support the maritime industry’s research for low to zero-carbon fuels in line with the IMO’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets. The trial will test biofuel-blended marine fuel on Capital managed 300k DWT crude tanker, Apollonas.

Capital Ship Management Corp. was awarded a Honorable Mention Award at the Tanker, Shipping and Trade Awards 2021 for the rescue by the Master and crew of M/T ‘Aristofanis’ of 153 persons on September 23 from a wooden vessel in distress, approximately 66 nautical miles SSW of Peloponnese in the South of Greece.
